XHTML
XHTML is the next generation of HTML and is a hybrid between HTML and XML. XML was designed to describe data. HTML was designed to display data. XHTML is much stricter than HTML.
Not all browers support XML so XHTML provides an intermediary soluton and can be interpreted by XML and HTML browsers.
XHTML Modules
XHTML modules provide means for subsetting and extending XHTML. They are used for creating new flavors of XHTML, such as XHTML Basic for mobile devices.
XML
The eXtensible Markup Language, used to format and structure information within documents.
XML Feed
A paid inclusion method of submitting a site's pages to search engines, via an XML document that describes multiple pages. Search sites continue to introduce ever-broader arrays of content
(such as images, audio, PDF documents, etc.) and more expeditious methods of submission, inclusion and indexing.
